Offering outstanding educational programs for students passionate about policy.

About the Institute

The Shelby Institute for Policy and Leadership is a nonpartisan, interdisciplinary, and student-focused establishment dedicated to educating and training future leaders interested in public policy. The Institute will highlight research, teaching and service through exemplary coursework, programming and events.

Central to the Institute is the Shelby Scholars Program, a credit-bearing learning community for selected undergraduate students who are passionate about public service. Annually, a small cohort is meticulously chosen to join this transformative program. Shelby Scholars will engage in a comprehensive, Institute-developed curriculum, participate in experiential learning opportunities and learn from exclusive speakers sponsored by the Institute.
