About the CORS Camera System
The CORS (Clinical Observation Recording Systems) Camera System provides groups on campus with a centralized system to facilitate research, evaluation, and coaching via video recording and observation. Departments are responsible for purchasing the equipment and providing support in conjunction with the vendor for their cameras. A central administrator is responsible for overseeing the license assignments, creating departmental administrators and coordinating annual/semi-annual updates over the year.
Installing a New Camera
The departmental administrator should:
- Contact the central administrator to verify licensing is available.
- Contact the vendor to obtain pricing. (833-556-3453 / ben@cvisecurity.com)
- Submit a first ticket to the IT Service Desk (itsd@ua.edu) with the following information:
- Specific location where the camera should be mounted
- Departmental contact information
- Submit a second ticket to the IT Service Desk (itsd@ua.edu) with the following information:
- MAC address of the camera
- MAC address of the individual(s) who will need to access the camera – request a “static IP address” for the individual(s).
- Contact the vendor to schedule installation of the camera.
- Update the IT Service Desk tickets to include the installation dates. (minimum 4-week advanced notice)
- Assign access rights to the individual(s) once the camera is installed.
Gaining access to an existing camera
The departmental administrator should:
- Submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk (itsd@ua.edu) with the MAC address of the individual(s) who need access to the camera – request a “static IP address” for the individual(s).
- Assign access rights to the individual(s).
Troubleshooting / Device Repair
The department administrator should contact the vendor at 833-556-3543 / nate@cvisecurity.com to initiate troubleshooting whenever a problem occurs with the cameras.
If the vendor is unable to resolve the problem, the department administrator should submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk. OIT can verify that the firewall rules are correct, network connections are active, and that the computer is functioning correctly; however, the vendor will provide primary support for the system, software and cameras.
